Hurrah! I actually managed to win some matches online! Quite a few of them too, all in Ranked Mode. Enough, in fact, to get myself an achievement. It would be nice, however, if people would play as someone other than Scorpion or Cyrax, and wouldn’t continually use teleporting and harpooning moves on me. That just isn’t cricket.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 seems to be a “bonus” Xbox Live Arcade game, as it appeared last night, rather than on the usual Wednesday. Played single player mode for a while, reaching Scorpion on level 5. All the fights before him were easily won by me as Sub-Zero, but I simply can’t defeat Scorpion as anyone. Well this was a surprise. The Mortal Kombat series left me cold after UMK3, and although this isn’t technically a Mortal Kombat title, it clearly is a Mortal Kombat game. It’s the same team, it’s a fighting game, it’s a followup to Mortal Kombat vs DC, and it’s even got Scorpion in it. And I enjoyed it. Of every games console or computer I’ve ever owned, the Sega Mega Drive is probably my favourite. It was my first console, and the one I own most games for.
